Dan Ionescu is a distinguished architect whose career spans prestigious international education and the design of large-scale, multi-million dollar projects. After beginning his studies at the Ion Mincu School of Architecture in Bucharest, he earned his degree from the Pratt Institute in New York. He honed his expertise at Edward Durell Stone, where he directed major developments such as the “El Conquistador” resort in Puerto Rico and The College of Staten Island. As a former principal of Freeman + Ionescu, he specialized in urban redevelopment and leisure industry master plans, notably leading the design proposal for the New York City Coliseum at Columbus Circle for the Hines Group and Simon DeBartolo.

Since founding Dan Ionescu Architects, he has focused on the renovation of landmark office buildings, including New York City’s Trinity Center and Constitution Plaza in Hartford, alongside designing millions of square feet of corporate interiors for clients like MCA and Hayward Industries.
